Yes! And if I may be so bold, as a former polisci wonk, "ally" has connotations of actual material/strategic contribution - money, arms, permission for passage through other-owned land - that conveys that something of worth has been contributed to a cause. Being basically decent is not the kind of significant actual contribution that "ally" implies to me.

Whew!

I felt all of this… and you know, Twitter is one of those places where those “participation trophies” run rapid. It’s almost as bad as being invited to the cookout - as soon as the access is given - the work stops because they feel like they’ve reached the highest level of “I’m not racist” and… it’s exhausting.
