This is a good book, and we both read it at the same time (the book is better): A Man in Full.

Did you ever read Bonfire of the Vanities?

Yes, and it is the bomb! I read it in the early ‘90s before the movie. (Again, the book is better). Have you read The Money Changers

I have not read The Money Changers! Let me add that to my list right now.

Are you into Bret Easton Ellis at all? He writes in a similar way. Both of them heavily influenced my early writing. I love writing that makes me feel like I am right there in the story.

I thought the Bonfire movie was OK. I also read the book first. I think I just really like Tom Cruise and Bruce Willis lol.

I’m adding Bret to my list. And The Money Changers is a very old title, I read it as a teenager in the late ‘70s (The Godfather is another bomb book, much better than all three movies). The Wolf of Wall Street is a great book and so is Queen of the South, both are much better than movie/tv series. I read The Godfather when I was a teenager too, my siblings were much older and their version of babysitting was “read this book and tell me what it’s about”. girl… my lil butt was reading Iceberg Slim in the 2nd grade…. That is just trifling and I should have told Mama and Daddy….
