Rainy days can be good days too

Sunday turned out way better than expected.

I was outside all day.

Went to brunch with my girls, and as hard as we tried, we could not find the bottom of those mimosas, so we gave up after like the fourth or fifth round.

Like the responsible adults that we are, we knew there was no way any of us should be driving, so we walked a short distance and found ourselves inside of an Ulta.

Nothing goes together better than a drunken lack of impulse control and a beauty store full of things I’ve been wanting to try anyway (much more on that later).

I ended up getting lashes and lash glue (again, more on that later); two MAC lipsticks and a MAC lipliner; a Clinique Happy gift set (circa 2000 me is cheering right now); an Anastasia Brow Pomade; a brush to use with said pomade; and a Clinique eyeliner.

I got robbed at Ulta, and I was their accomplice, I swear.

Seeing the total at the Ulta register sobered me right on up, y’all. We then went to Daiso because my friend had never been there before. I bought strawberry and chocolate Pocky and refrained from buying pens since one of my other friends bought me some really nice ones while she was in Japan last month.

Now fully sober, we decided to head over to a cookie spot my girl was raving about. Those cookies were worth every bit of the hype.

I’m home now, in my house dress, on my computer doing all the things.

Today was full and bright. I was going to let the rain keep me in the house. I’m glad I didn’t.

Rainy days can be good days too.

• I’m on season 3 of The Good Wife now. I don’t know what, if anything, it says about me that Eli Gold is my favorite character, followed closely by Diane Lockhart.

• My medical insurance switched when I started my new role. All the doctors on my care team are covered by my new plan except my primary care physician.
