just some short updates that could have been social media posts but weren't

I don’t have a lot today. I don’t feel well. I’m all out of bandwidth and descriptive words, so I am going to keep this short and sweet and get right to the miscellany.

Miscellany

• I’ve created a separate blog for my journalism fixation. It will house all of my independent journalism, media criticism, news reporting, etc, so if you are a fan of my journalism, I highly recommend you subscribe to The Judge Report. I promise there will be a maximum of one email per day from that publication.

• I wrote my first column for ContrabandCamp, and it’s live now. Let’s tell the truth about the Elon Musk Nazi salute on Monday.

• Doesn’t Amazon own Goodreads? Why is the Goodreads app and site so clunky and slow? I only use it to keep track of books I’ve read or want to read, and I put the occasional book review there, but good grief. I was trying to add books to my TBR this morning, and waiting for each page to load made me feel like I was on Netscape Navigator again or worse, Internet Explorer.

• Every day, I pick up all the dog toys and put them back in the basket that holds them, and every single day, they get pulled right back out, one by one, and the living room floor turns into a dog toy hunting ground again.

• The Wordle challenge in my friend group continues. It’s made it so much fun for me. I don’t even play Connections anymore. I just do the Wordle puzzle and move on with my day. It’s fun having a start word we are all using and working from that. Today, I solved the puzzle in three guesses. Babby daddy gave us a good start word.

• I’m starting Sugar by Bernice L. McFadden this week. I got it on Libby, as usual.

• Ever since the fake TikTok ban and its subsequent return, I haven’t spent as much time on that app as I did previously.

• Legacy media is dead. Support independent journalism.
