I’m tired, so I’m just going to hit the high notes today.

• I solved Wordle in three guesses again both yesterday and today. The asterisk is letting you know I play Wordle on Hard Mode.

• I got my first two paid subscribers on The Judge Report, and one of them sent me a note letting me know that they have been following me since my days at The Root. “I've been fortunate to have followed you since the Root. Your work always has been and continues to be amazing. Great insights, witty, and always interesting."

  • It got hella dusty in here when I read that. It was an affirmation that my work truly matters — to someone, at least.

  • The other paid subscriber is a someone I engage with pretty regularly on Threads. Again, it got dusty when I saw that name because wow. We kiki on the timeline all the time, but going the extra mile to support what I’m doing is the most humbling and flattering thing ever.

• Speaking of The Judge Report, I got a new post up: “Kamala Harris doesn’t owe you shit”

• My first column for ContrabandCamp did very well. In case you missed it, you can read it now: It was a Nazi salute. Please BFFR

  • People are excited to see the old gang from The Root back in action together, and if I’m being honest, I’m excited about it too.

• I’m working on two commissioned stories right now. One is about social media and the other one is about parasocial relationships. Both should be good, so stay tuned for that.

• A dude I ghosted on Okcupid is giving me weirdo stalker vibes. I ghosted because he was on the gas about having sex right away — before we even met in person and could see if our vibes aligned, and that was a red flag to me (and there were other red flags), so I blocked him on the app and my phone. That was almost two weeks ago, and he is still calling my phone.

  • If men wonder why women take these measures, please understand this is a perfect example of why.

  • My not responding to you should be enough for you to move on. I’ve had men stop responding to me, and nothing in their nonresponse made me want to continue messaging them. This dude seems pressed beyond belief, which makes me extra glad I didn’t meet up with him or try to take it any further, but what the hell?

  • I have to ask again: Are men OK?

• I worked from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. today on something I am passionate about, and it felt good to do that.

• I wore Donna Karan Cashmere today, which is a classic. I smell like 1994 right now.
