Ghost, Chicken Big Mac, and Substack Notes
I spend more time on Substack than anywhere else these days
No, I still haven’t finished creating a post about the Veuve-Clicquot Polo Classic. I have a lot of video and photos to sort through.
In the meantime, let’s talk about what I’ve seen and heard lately.
It’s a wrap for Power Book II: Ghost
OK. I’ve given y’all plenty of time to watch the finale of Ghost, but in case you haven’t had a chance to do so yet, you probably want to scroll by this to the next subsection of this post because there are going to be spoilers here.
First of all, I can’t believe this show is over — especially with the ending we got, which left the door open for so much more story.
I’m wondering if we are going to get another spin-off, or will we see these characters in another one of the Power Universe shows?
Who was Tariq talking to on the phone at the end? I can’t think of anyone else he would call “family” except for Tommy. Will we see him on Power Book IV: Ghost?
Effie. Baby. I know that dick was not that good for you to give up your parachute out of the dope game to a nigga who said goodbye and walked off after giving you a kiss on the forehead. I was rooting for you, goofy.
As far as Tariq is concerned, my man Panama Jackson said it best:
Tariq’s character arc has been insane. When “Power” ended, folks (including me) hated Tariq. By the end of season 1 of “Ghost,” Tariq was back in all of our good graces. But he was also out here getting messy in the drug game, shooting professors and wearing the finest of designer fashions while running, literally, everywhere. His drug dealing never really seemed to get better though his murder game did improve. Tariq as the top of the drug dealing mountain in New York City makes no sense, but here we are. I just don’t understand it, storytelling-wise. Nothing about this show seems like Tariq should be alive, much less at the top of the food chain. But here we are. Apparently, the 50-11 times they tried to tell us how smart he was over the past few episodes were supposed to make it make sense. It does not.
Diana is definitely finna be the second coming of Monet. I doubt we have seen the last of Cane yet.
They completely ruined Brayden, and they definitely destroyed the dynamic between Brayden and Tariq. That dynamic was part of what made this show so good. It was like we got a mini Ghost and Tommy.
Now Brayden is fucking hype, and since he’s on that shit, Tariq is keeping him at a distance. Booooooooooo.
Panama asks at the end of his column if Tariq is going to ever get his degree, and I say not as long as he only has one class a semester. They never explained that shit, and it was always weird to me.
Anyway, the show is gone now. There are no more episodes coming, and I don’t know how to feel about that yet.
Raising Kanan is coming back this winter, though.
A chicken Big Mac?
McDonald’s is releasing a chicken Big Mac this week. It will only be around for a limited time, so if you are into that type of thing, you better jump on it.
The new take on the 1968 classic Big Mac will make its debut in the U.S., though the item has already appeared on menus around the world.
The limited-time offering will become available on Oct. 10 at participating locations and only while supplies last.
“With the introduction of the Chicken Big Mac, we’re excited to pay homage to one of our most iconic menu items, the Big Mac, and introduce it to a whole new generation of fans,” Tariq Hassan, chief marketing and customer experience officer at McDonald’s USA, said in a statement.
The new sandwich will feature familiar toppings for Big Mac lovers, only this time with tempura-battered chicken patties.

I’m soooo behind on the Powebook collective. I stop watching when Tariq was feeling himself a little too much for me, I wanted to smack the shit out his lil ass, so I been on pause for a few years.
I’m interest in circling back though….
Who asked for a chicken Big Mac and why 😭
